The Cost of Everything...
So as the price of petroleum soars, sending the costs of everything else skyward, perhaps it is time for the United States to begin reducing the total amount of money we pour into other nations and reduce our total contribution to the United Nations. The fed could take that outlay and reduce our individual tax burden and subsidize the soaring fuel costs (particularly in the northeast). I keep reading how we should be thankful that we don't pay what other nations pay for fuel...the US is not other nations. No other nation contributes the amount of money to the UN that we pay, no other nation has the ability to repond to and help in the event of a disaster, and no other nation "helps" financially as many nations as we do. Maybe it is time to take care of our own.
